We were invited to attend a reception in honor of the Ashanti King of Ghana. The reception was to be held at the prestigious historical King David Hotel in Jerusalem.
King David Hotel – A night shot
World leaders, artists and celebrities all stay at the King David but for me it was the first time to be a guest.
The entrance to King David Hotel
The reception was attended by many politicians and celebrities. There were also some beautiful black ladies dressed in fantastically colorful African outfits. I only got to photograph one of them, maybe she was part of the King’s entourage.
A young Ghanain Lady
An excited buzz went through the crowed as the King of Ghana entered, swathed in a magnificent Ashanti cloth and accompanied by faithful staff who held an umbrella above him, inside the hall, as a customary sign of his royalty .
The King of Ghana
Though I was unable to get too close with my camera, you may get a feel from this shot of the atmosphere that night . It was a splendid evening- the King of Ghana in the city of Kings!
